| NE;ELANE

Neutrophil elastase (ELANE, ELA2,NE) is a serine proteinase in the same family as chymotrypsin and has broad substrate specificity. The neutrophil form of elastase is 218 amino acids long, with two asparagine-linked carbohydrate chains . It is secreted by neutrophils during inflammation, and destroys bacteria and host tissue. ELA2 also localizes to neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), via its high affinity for DNA, an unusual property for serine proteases.

The recovery of Human NE;ELANE spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.
